Hello! My name is Ruth Baheta. I live in Denver, Colorado and I am currently looking for opportunities to develop my skills in UX Research and Design. I recently completed my undergraduate career at the University of Colorado Boulder where I studied anthropology, public health, and leadership studies. I love studying different cultures, societies, and how they develop.
I developed a passion for User Experience Research and Design through my studies in anthropology and public health. I learned about the large gap between users and the people who serve them. I wanted to become a bridge between users and administrative stakeholders to improve everyone’s experience in a variety of fields.
I was a user experience research intern for the Office of Information and Technology at the University of Colorado Boulder campus, which merged my love for people with my skills as a technical artist.
During the Fall 2018 semester I studied in Thailand where I developed my leadership and application skills. While I was in Thailand I explored the healthcare services and public health priorities in Thailand and regions in Southeast Asia and conducted rigorous field research on child obesity in rural Northeast Thailand. During my time in Thailand I was an editor-in-chief of a local Thai magazine called Common Ground. Common Ground is a student produced magazine dedicated to giving a voice to the local population while also building solidarity amongst grassroots communities in order to promote a more just and participatory world. This volume of Common Ground was focused on immigration, students from around the world wrote about the unique perspectives and issues regarding immigration.
Beyond work, I enjoy reading, painting, and traveling.
